Syed Abdul Matin, owner of Future Organic farm informed that he did not use any kind of pesticide to cultivate the crops. To prevent attack of worms & insects, he uses oil produced from mahogany seed. Cake of mahogany seed used as fertilizer. One kinds drinks also produced from leaf of mahogany essences.
A small tin shed is attracted in bio firm, it is the laboratory of bio technology. Oil of mahogany is found in the drum, bio fertilizer in the bag and varieties seed in the jar. Syed Abdul Matin comes in the firm every day from a small cottage of Khulna by bus.
Abdul Matin informed that taste of mahogany seed and leaf are bitter. Due to bitterness the mahogany belongs to special quality. He did not stop his research by innovating various quality of neglected mahogany seeds which is found in road and garden, handed over his innovation to scientists of three university and four research organization. All of them are ensured to the effectiveness of mahogany seed.
Three innovations are nationally recognized. He received merit award from the ministry of industry Bangladesh under the division of trades & design. He awarded for preparation of drinks & bio fertilizer in 2013 and bio insect killer in 2014 respectively.
To identify the reason of research on Mahogany seed, he informed that after passing HSC in 1977 participated six months training on agriculture and joined as an agriculture worker in March 1978 in Rampal agriculture office under agricultural extension department. In 1999 he participated in a workshop on integrated insecticide management system at Chapai Nawabgong. He knew various uses of Neem tree as insect killer. But Neem tree is not available in area. He tried to find alternative as Neem tree. Finally he Searched in google and found that the aborigines people of Africa & East Asia prepared medicine from seed & leaf of Mahogany tree. In true sense Google (as a google search engine) show him new light of research on mahogany tree.
Md.Hamidur Rahman Director General of Agriculture Extension department remarks that Innovation of Abdul Matin is expanding at the grassroots level. Oil of Mahogany has been used as bio insect killer in the program of Integrated Insect Management System of Bangladesh. Abdul matin expects that oil of Mahogany seed bio fertilizer could spread all over the country; next generation of Bangladesh would take pesticide free crops & vegetables.
