Tanzim Sakib Joins Global Super League, Backed by Imran Tahir
Tanzim Sakib in the Global Super League on Imran Tahir's Recommendation
Tanzim Hasan Sakib is set to play in a foreign franchise league for the first time. On the recommendation of Imran Tahir, Tanzim has joined the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Global T20 League. Following his outstanding performance in the 2024 T20 World Cup, Tanzim caught the attention of the experienced South African leg-spinner Imran Tahir.
During the T20 World Cup, Tanzim impressed everyone with his pace, line, length, and consistency. After witnessing his performance, Tahir personally obtained Tanzim’s contact information and proposed the opportunity to play in the league. Speaking to Sports News yesterday, Tanzim said, “Tahir Bhai was impressed with my performance in the World Cup. He reached out to me and offered me the chance to play in the Global T20 League. My schedule was free at the time, so I agreed.”
Tanzim is excited about his first-ever opportunity to play in a foreign league. He said, “Playing alongside international cricketers is a big opportunity for me. I hope to learn a lot from this league and improve my game.”
Among Bangladeshi cricketers, Shakib Al Hasan has played in the most foreign franchise T20 leagues. Tamim Iqbal, Mustafizur Rahman, and Taskin Ahmed have also gained significant experience in overseas leagues. Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, Shoriful Islam, and Towhid Hridoy have also played in foreign leagues.
Recently, Saifuddin and Rishad Hossain received opportunities to play in Canada’s Global T20 League. Now, Tanzim Sakib is joining this list. Tanzim believes this experience will have a positive impact on his future performances for the national team.
